The Artist who Painted a Blue Horse

One of my favorite Eric Carle books is the Artist who Painted A Blue Horse. We read the book and then we discussed the animals and how they were not the same color that the regular animals was. We discussed imagination and creativity in this lesson. After the lesson I let everyone have a big piece of white paper and different color paint and let them paint the animal that they imagined. They did a great job. After everyone was done we let them dry and then later on in the day we shared our pictures with each other. It was a fun lesson!
