Texas Unit

We did a two week unit on Texas in May. This is not part of the Texas Kindergarten standards but I had run out of Social Studies lessons so I planned this many unit and it was well worth it. I even had a student go to Austin during the unit and her mother came in and told me she insisted they go to the State capital building!

 Texas State Motto Friendship. The traced their hand and a friends hand and then glued them on a paper and wrote about what friendship means.

 The Six Flags of Texas flap book. They colored the flags and then glued them on the outside and then glued the name of the country and the years their flag hung over Texas inside the flap.
